«Gold» with Olympic record by Duskos

Ο Stefanos Duskos is the Olympic champion of single skiff at the 32nd Olympic Games. The skier from Giannina gave the first medal to Greece in Tokyo and even gold, which is the first gold medal of the Greek rowing in Olympic Games. With a time of 6:40.45 and an unbelievable race, Duskos also made a Olympic record, beating Maher Drisdale's (6:41.34) from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. This is the 4th Olympic medal for Greek rowing in history and the 3rd in Greek men's rowing.

In his second participation in the Olympics, as in Rio de Janeiro he was 6th in the lightweight coxless quadriga with Spyros Giannaros, Giannis Petrou and Panagiotis Magdanis, Douskos gave the Greek rowing the only Olympic medal that was missing from its collection...

In the final, the 24-year-old Stefanos Douskos was the first in the 1,000 meters and since then he has not lost the lead, rowing steadily towards the highest step of the podium in the Olympics. The «silver» Kjetil Borch of Norway needed more than a second compared to the Greek skier to cross the finish line in second place (6:41.66), while the bronze medal was won by the Croatian Damir Martin (6:42.58).
