The suffering of the residents of Frilingianikon and Kastrisianikon continues for the fifth day, as the serious damage to the water supply network has not yet been repaired.
According to what the Adelin FM, the old network was severely damaged, and despite the continuous efforts of the Municipality of Kythera's crews, the restoration has not been completed. The responsible Deputy Mayor, Mr. Panagiotis Zantiotis, confirmed that work is ongoing, but so far have not brought the desired result. If all goes well, it is estimated that the damage will be repaired by tomorrow.
At the same time, residents express their strong dissatisfaction, as there is no official information from the Municipal Authority. In a post on social networks, Ms. Vassia Scrapi asks:
«Is there any chance of getting official information from the Municipal Authority about the water cut in Frilingianika? We are counting the 5th day without water!».
According to her, residents were informally informed that the restoration efforts so far have failed and that the solution will be given either with the completion of the project or «if digging happens and find some point to join» as she said ironically. At the same time, he raised questions about the alternatives and the quality of the water proposed as a temporary solution:
«Will the City compensate residents for the inconvenience? And how do you encourage people to use water from the wells? Who guarantees its suitability? Have you gone completely mad?»
The outrage is widespread, with residents complaining not only about the lack of water, but also about the lack of a clear timetable for repairing the damage, while increases in water rates have already come into effect.
The Municipal Authority, for its part, has not issued an official statement on the matter. Developments are expected in the coming hours, as the situation in Frilingianika remains marginal.
