Panagiotis Marselos of Kytherios was ordained deacon on Sunday 17 January and the next day, Monday 18 January, priest. The ordination took place at the Holy Church of St. Athanasius, Nicholas and Photios in Ano Kypseli, a part of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
Our compatriot joined the holy clergy and received the Grace of the Priesthood with the new name «Alexios». He has studied mechanical engineering at the Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, theology at the University of Athens, Byzantine music at the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, while he holds a Master's degree in History at the Ionian University. He is also an expert in writing. Braille and Greek Sign Language. For several years he participated in theatre groups in his hometown, Kythera, and is a founding member of the theatre group «Kythetron». In recent years he has served as a deacon in the church of St. Nicholas in Kato Patision.
