In indefinite suspension of work will be set from August 16 health and employees in elderly care facilities who are not vaccinated against coronavirus, announced the Minister of Labor, Kostis Hatzidakis.
Speaking on SKAI television, Mr. Hatzidakis said that «the legislative regulation for mandatory vaccinations in hospitals and care facilities for the elderly and disabled. The metro will continue to operate, and from August 16 onwards, those who are not vaccinated will be suspended, and the metro may be extended by decision of the Minister of Health,» he explained.
«I believe that employees will be vaccinated. On the one hand, there is the theoretical approach of dismissals, and on the other, the option of praying, ‘God, please enlighten those who have not been vaccinated to go and get vaccinated’. We are neither for one approach nor the other. If we wanted to talk about dismissals, we would do so; if we wanted to choose the approach of SYRIZA (...) “it is good to get vaccinated, but it should not be compulsory,” things would go backwards. We are following the European path,» the minister stressed.
