The European Medicines Agency has approved Pfizer's vaccine

A cyberattack was launched against the European Medicines Agency, resulting in the theft of documents relating to the Pfizer vaccine.

According to BBC The European Medicines Agency (EMA) reports that it has been hit by a cyberattack and that documents relating to the Covid-19 vaccine have been stolen.

According to the joint statement by Pfizer-BioNTech: «EMA was the target of a cyberattack, and some individuals gained unauthorized access to certain documents related to the Covid-19 vaccine candidate.».

«No BioNTech or Pfizer system has been breached, and we are not aware of any personal data of study participants being leaked,» the two companies added.

It is not yet clear whether the documents for Moderna's vaccine, which is also being evaluated by the EMA, have been compromised.

So far, it has not been clarified when or how the attack took place, who was responsible, or what other information may have been compromised.
