In the next election or referendum, Greek men and women living and working abroad will, for the first time, have the right to vote from their countries of residence.
A prerequisite is to submit an online application to register on the overseas voter rolls, which can be done quickly and easily from a personal computer using your Taxisnet username and password.
According to the new Law 4648/2019, which aims to facilitate voting for Greek voters abroad, those who, over the past 35 years, have lived in Greece for two years and have filed an E1, E2, E3, or E9 tax return for either the current or the previous tax year are eligible to apply.
In addition, Greek students studying outside Greece are also eligible to participate.
A new initiative by young immigrants of her generation economic crisis and Brain Drain, the “Progressive Expatriates,” is now stepping up to rally progressive voters abroad, through a new platform aimed at creating the momentum that will lead to a new, progressive majority in the Hellenic Parliament in the upcoming national elections.
