The last meeting of the Permanent Holy Synod for this church year will take place on Wednesday and Thursday (25 and 26 August 2021). In addition to the bureaucratic issues and pending matters, which need to be settled, it is expected that His Eminence Bishops of Kythera and Antikythera, Mr. Seraphim and Aetolia and Akarnania Mr. Kosmas concerning the indiscipline attributed to them for the period of Easter as regards the exceptional procedure for the celebration of Holy Masses due to health restrictions.
In detail, the relevant extract from the previous IIS press release (July) stated:
«The I.I.S. has decided to invite their Eminences Bishops Seraphim of Kythera and Kosmas of Aetolia and Acarnania to provide oral explanations at its meeting in August, taking into account the recommendation of the Synodal Commission on Doctrinal and Canonical Questions concerning the letters and other actions of the said High Priests, in which they have expressed indiscipline and disrespect to the unanimous decision of the collective governing body of the Church of Greece, regarding the extraordinary procedure for the celebration of Holy Masses due to the health restrictions.»
