The Vice President of DEEP A issued a written statement welcoming the publication in the Government Gazette of the Special Certification of Secondary Social Care for the «Kasimateion» in Potamos, Kythira, in the Government Gazette.

Mr. Mavrommatis highlighted the importance of this development for improving elder care on the island, while noting his own contribution and the steps he took during the process. At the same time, he thanked the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michaelidou, for her prompt response and cooperation, while emphasizing that meeting the needs of the residents of Kythira must take precedence over political and partisan differences.

The following is the full statement by Mr. Antonios P. Mavrommatis:

It is with great satisfaction that I welcome the publication in the Government Gazette of the Special Certification for Secondary Social Care awarded to the Trifyllio Foundation of Kythira for the «Kasimateion» Care Unit"Kasimateion" in Potamos, Kythira.

This is a particularly significant development for Kythira and for the care of our elderly fellow citizens, as it substantially enhances the sense of security, dignity, and social support in our community. The facility’s certification is a decisive step toward upgrading the services provided and ensuring a high standard of care for senior citizens.

From the very beginning, I consistently stood by this effort with genuine interest, contributing through my own actions and interventions to the promotion and support of the process, with the aim of achieving today’s positive outcome, which is a testament to the efforts of all those who worked to bring it to fruition.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, for her cooperation, prompt response, and substantial contribution to the completion of this important process. Her support was crucial to achieving a goal with a significant social impact for Kythira.

As Vice President of the First Municipal and Community Council of Piraeus and the Islands, and as an active citizen and businessperson from Kythira, I consider it my duty to support every initiative that promotes social cohesion and serves the real needs of the island’s residents. I firmly believe that, above political differences, factions, and party affiliations, people always come first, as does our obligation to work toward improving the daily lives and quality of life of our fellow citizens.

The certification of the «Kasimateion» Senior Care Center is an important legacy for the future of Kythira and demonstrates that when there is cooperation, understanding, and a shared goal, results can be achieved that leave a meaningful and lasting social impact.

Antonios P. Mavrommatis
Vice President of the First District of Piraeus and the Islands
