The self-testing system is reopened from today until Friday 31 December at 20:00, according to EDIKA. Two self-tests will be distributed to all citizens over 5 years old. Vaccinated citizens are not excluded.
According to an information sent by EDIKA to the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association regarding the distribution of self-tests, there are several reports from citizens that unknown to them pharmacies (even in a different city from their own) distributed self-tests with their AMKA without them receiving them.
Pharmacists using the self-test dispensing system should check the identification data of the citizen before dispensing (especially when they do not know him/her) and search for the citizen in the system by his/her social security number and not by his/her full name (an option available in some pharmacy software)
It should be noted that the self-test dispositions entered by pharmacists in the system are checked and when the wrong disposition occurs after a citizen report, the wrong dispositions are cancelled and both the General Secretariat of Civil Protection and the Ministry of Health are informed.
