One month later the tragic shipwreck in Diakofti Kythera, this morning citizens found at the scene of the incident and spotted a new corpse that almost certainly refers to the missing persons of that tragic night. It is recalled that on Saturday, October 8, the Coast Guard launched the operation to recover the bodies. At the same time, on the rocks just above the wreck site, the relatives of the missing stood in agony, who had come from different parts of Europe to look for them. The last official information on the investigations was made by the Headquarters of the Coast Guard on 11 October with the total number of bodies amounting to nine (06 men and 03 women).
Even today, Thursday 3 November, the wreck's debris is still lying on the two-metre deep seabed without the area having been cleaned. It is noted that the port authorities were informed of the body at the wreck site. A coast guard boat has been in the port of Diakoftio since the morning, while the body was recovered in the afternoon hours.
