A press release, announcing the English version of its website, was issued by the Kythira Foundation for Culture and Development.
In it, it is stated:
«The English version of the website of the Kythira Foundation for Culture & Development (KIPA), is now a fact. Thus, Kytherians everywhere and friends of Kythera, who do not speak Greek, can be directly informed about the programs and activities of the Foundation.
Following the upgrade of our website in 2020, the next phase of the Foundation's online presence has just been completed. Our English website is an important step to stimulate interaction with the Kythiraean society everywhere, aiming to resonate with the younger generations of the Kythiraean diaspora, who may not have Greek as their first language. Moreover, as more and more European and international friends of Kythera choose the island for their permanent or holiday residence, we consider that our English website is an essential tool to communicate with them our actions.
KIPA wants to continue to inspire, motivate and foster partnerships. «To become», as its founder George I. Kasimatis has written, «a true hive of thought, planning and action for the qualitative development of Kythera and Antikythera». We hope that our English website will bring together non-Greek speaking friends of Kythera, with whom we will share our vision and join together to make it a reality.
We invite you, Kytherians and friends of Kythera everywhere, to visit our new English website, https://kipa-foundation.org/en/ in order to be informed about our actions and our projects, to contact us and to participate as our elected members.
Since 2006, the Kytheraiko Foundation highlights the cultural and natural heritage of Kythera, while contributing to the sustainable development and quality of life of the local community through educational activities, events, scientific conferences and projects such as the restoration of traditional paths, among others.»
