Aegean is heralding the dawn of a new era that promises to enhance the travel experience through a radical overhaul of its corporate identity, two decades after its first logo.
The company’s revamped corporate identity coincides with the delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, which were unveiled on Monday, October 11, at a special event attended by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The new aircraft are already entering service, with the first of the three new Airbus A320neo aircraft operating the Athens–Munich route. The fleet already includes three of the new aircraft, and another six will be added by July. According to reports, they will be used primarily on long-haul routes to maximize their competitive advantages, the most significant of which is lower fuel consumption.
The process of changing a company's brand identity takes 3 years
The British agency PriestmanGoode was tasked with revamping Aegean’s corporate identity. This firm specializes almost exclusively in services for the aviation industry, with clients including companies such as Airbus, United Airlines, Air France, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Thai, Turkish Airlines, and others. As for Aegean, the contract was awarded a year ago, and according to what airline executives told News24/7, the transition to the new corporate identity will be completed in two years.
In addition to the new aircraft being delivered by Airbus with the new branding, all older-model aircraft remaining in the fleet will be repainted in the new colors and refurbished, crew uniforms will be updated, and, generally speaking, within 48 months, the new corporate identity will have replaced the old one wherever it was used.
Changes Inside and Out
The changes include both the livery (the aircraft’s exterior appearance) and the passenger cabin, and are inspired by the Greek sky and sea, classical and contemporary architecture, and our country’s heritage. They focus on the purity of symmetry, which, combined with classical forms and a vision for a sustainable and dynamic future, offers a comprehensive travel experience.
