A new episode of police violence has caused fierce reactions in the US, as police officers in Arkansas State were captured on video beat a man savagely during arrest.
The incident took place last Saturday. The woman who posted the video claimed that her sister was an eyewitness.
The video shows the police officers detain the arrested man on the ground and put him punch. At one point a woman can be heard pleading with them to stop, saying «Don't hit him. He needs medication.» One officer responds: «Back the fuck****** up,» while another orders her into the car.
The three police officers were removed from their posts and an investigation has been opened into the case, according to CNN.
What the Sheriff of Police claims
The suspect was wanted for allegedly had threatened an employee at a gas station in a neighboring town. When located, according to Sheriff Jimmy Damante, the man was initially cooperative, but then tried to assault the officers, resulting in what was captured on video.
The Crawford County Sheriff also said the suspect was examined at a hospital and taken to jail, while a police officer was slightly injured during the incident.
