In a letter to the President of the Holy Synod, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Archbishop Hieronymos, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythera raises the issue of the exclusion of the faithful from Divine Worship, and describes as unprecedented and unprecedented the decision to close the Churches again in the second Lockdown.
Among other things, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythera says: «Our Holy Churches, with the tolerance of our Holy Synod, remain closed for a second period for our Orthodox Christian People, to the unmistakable regret of the pious and Orthodox Christians»
In his letter he refers to persecution against Christians and accuses the state that it violates the Constitution, and excludes the faithful from Divine Worship and says in high tones: «Caesaropapism“ in its ”greatness and glory“. Have we said it all, Your Beatitude, Holy President and Your Eminence, Holy Synodal Priests? We have indeed handed over the keys of our Churches and it remains... to give the seals of our Holy Metropolises to ”Caesar“! Mercy! Mercy!”
