Changes to recycling and bulky item collection routes

The Municipality of Kythira issued an announcement regarding the collection of recyclable and bulky items:

Due to the expiration of the employment contracts of temporary staff providing reciprocal services, there will be changes to the schedules for the collection of recyclables and bulky items.

The announcement for the recruitment of new seasonal IDOX staff (with 8-month contracts) will be published within the week, but it will take approximately 3 weeks to recruit and train the new staff.

For this reason, we kindly ask residents to limit the disposal of bulky items, construction and demolition waste, and recyclable materials until the situation returns to normal. Household waste collection routes are not affected.

Especially with regard to recycling, we urge you to dispose of paper boxes in the blue bins as intended, i.e., the boxes should be broken down and folded, not left whole. Furthermore, when there is a need to dispose of bulky items and AEKK products, it is essential to consult with the relevant municipal services beforehand.
Thank you for your understanding.
