The analysis of the Stephen Collinson on CNN, says what the «Western leaders» avoid telling their citizens about Russia-Ukraine war. The scope for pressure on the Putin have been exhausted. The West will either engage in a war with disastrous consequences for the whole planet or continue to watch the Russia-Ukraine war and the president of the latter speaking in parliaments of countries and at ceremonies...
«Armed with the world's largest stockpile of nuclear warheads, Putin understands that the West is not willing to intervene directly in Ukraine and risk a catastrophic conflict with Russia with measures such as a no-fly zone to rescue civilians,» Collinson writes, adding:
«Putin offers a lesson in why other dictators might consider acquiring nuclear weapons...The kind of Western interventions to rescue civilians in places like Kosovo or Libya are forbidden in Ukraine, simply because of the implied power of the Russian leader's arsenal.».
Collinson is not alone in his deafening condemnation of the Russian invasion, but does not hesitate to describe the «Western impasse».
Retired U.S. Army Colonel, Douglas McGregor, in his television interventions has spoken openly:
«Russia will not abandon Ukraine. We have to understand that they will not lose this war...It's like the US invading in northern Mexico and expect to lose.».
At the same time, the leaders of the West insist on «half truths» which can be summarised as follows:
- Putin is isolated abroad
- Putin is isolated at home
- Putin loses the war
The anti-American protests in Pakistan where the gathering denounced Washington for being suspected of plotting to bring down the country's pro-Russian prime minister and Pakistan's congratulations to its mortal enemy India for resisting US pressure, do not confirm the isolation.
In addition, the Chinese, the Indians, almost all the Asians, at least half of Africa, with South Africa leading the way, the Arab world and OPEC, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, Israel, either support Russia or abstain from Western sanctions against it.
For Putin's internal isolation, the evidence is more concrete. Polls show that his approval rating, since the start of the war, has been between 70 and 80%.
