Strike GSEE - ADEDY: How the public transport will move

With 24-hour strike and work stoppages Transport workers participate in the strike of the Transport Workers' Union GSEE and ADEDY, today Wednesday 6 April 2022.

The Fixed Railways (Metro, Electric and Tram) will be at a standstill throughout the day, according to a decision by the unions of the STA.SY. Also, trains, including the Suburban, and trolleybuses will be immobilized due to the participation in the 24-hour strike of the Panhellenic Federation of Railway Workers and the Union of Employees of ELPAP respectively. There will be work stoppages on buses from the beginning of the shift until 9:00 am and from 9:00 pm until the end of the shift in accordance with a decision of the OASA Workers' Union. Traffic is expected to be restored around 9:30 - 10:00 am and the last services are expected to be in operation from 20:00 or earlier.

Transport workers demand the signing of a «Collective Labour Agreement, Strengthening Public Transport, taking measures to prevent the impoverishment of the population, to address the poverty and the removal of obstacles to trade union action imposed by the law «Hatzidakis», as they say in their announcements and call on workers to take part in the meeting at 11am at Claytmonos Square.

Air traffic controllers are also going on a 24-hour strike today, Wednesday 6 April. The decision to participate was taken on 23 March during the general assembly of the Greek Air Traffic Controllers Association (EEKKE). It is recalled that the Panhellenic Association of Telecommunicators of the Civil Aviation Service will also take part in the strike. The association is demanding, among other things, wage increases and the repeal of the Hatzidakis law on labour issues and «all laws that privatise social security».

TRAINOSE: Modifications of routes 

Modifications to the routes of TRAINOSE SA will be due to the participation of the Panhellenic Federation of Railway Workers (POS) in the general 24-hour strike mobilization, announced by the General Union of Trade Unions of Greece (GSEE).

In order to serve the basic needs of the community, the following routes will be operated:

Two passenger trains per 24 hours between Athens - Thessaloniki - Athens

One passenger train every 8 hours between Piraeus - Airport - Piraeus

One passenger train every 8 hours between Piraeus - Kiatos - Piraeus

One passenger train every 8 hours between Athens - Chalkida - Athens

One passenger train every 8 hours between Thessaloniki - Larissa - Thessaloniki

Due to the strike, TRAINOSE timetables will be modified on 07/04 as well.
