The debate on the motion of no-confidence against the government, submitted on Thursday by the leader of the opposition Alexis Tsipras, continues for the second day in Parliament, with the reasoning that «in a context of successive crises (pandemic, precision, bad weather management), Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his government are proving to be ineffective and dangerous for the country».
Apart from the ministers - 220 MPs are scheduled to speak: 108 from the New Democracy, 70 from SYRIZA, 17 from the Movement for Change, 12 from the KKE, 5 from Hellenic Solution, 6 from MP25 and 3 independents.
The debate is expected to end around 8:00 on Sunday evening, with a roll-call vote. In order to be accepted, a motion of no-confidence must be approved by an absolute majority of the total number of MEPs, and no new motion may be tabled before six months have elapsed.
