The the need for universal vaccination of the population, noted the professor of Hematology at the Sorbonne Medical School, Grigoris Gerotziafas. Mr. Gerotziafas called for stricter penalties —in light of the fifth wave of the pandemic, which he considers inevitable—by imposing fines that would deter even financially well-off vaccine refusers from «getting away with it.».
«I don’t know if the penalties will be limited to tax consequences or if they’ll make life difficult for those who don’t get vaccinated—and I’m saying this very generally, knowing that it will cause a stir,» Mr. Gerotziafas noted. «However, the penalties must be strict enough so that they leave no room for anyone to get away with it, not even if they have the financial means,» he added.
«We cannot allow our societies to be destroyed for the sake of a 10%-20% of fools. The problem is very serious. We’re not going to sit around playing into the so-called sensitivities of some or the pseudo-freedoms of others,» said the professor of Hematology, who was speaking on OPEN’s morning show, “Now, whatever is happening.” Mr. Gerotziafas, in fact, recommended that the measure be made mandatory starting at age 12.
