The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 2,353, of which 18 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates.
The total number of cases is 194,582 (daily change +1.2%), of which 51.8% are males. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 60 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 2,368 are associated with an already known case.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 422 (69.9% men). Their median age is 68 years. 84.6% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1 364 patients have been discharged from ICUs. New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 289 (daily change +11.58%). The seven-day average admission rate is 291 patients. The median age of cases is 44years (range 0.2 to 105 years), while the median age of deaths is 79 years (range 15 to 103 years).
From 1 January 2020 to date, a total of 3,687,088 clinical specimens have been tested in laboratories that perform testing for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically report the total number of specimens they test, while 1,627,965 specimens have been tested by Health Units and EODY teams performing Rapid Ag testing. The seven-day average is 43,055 sample checks.
There are 23 new deaths of patients with COVID-19, with a total of 6,557 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.7% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
