The construction of 7 new playgrounds in Kythera begins

The construction of 7 new playgrounds on the island of Kythira, proceeds the Municipality. The project, with a total budget of 240.000 €, is covered for the most part by the programme PHILODEMOS of the Ministry of Interior and provides for the installation of new certified and safe playground equipment in various parts of the island.

«Signed by the Mayor of Kythera Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis and the President of the contractor company ZITAKAT ATEVE Mr. Dionysios Zafeiropoulos the contract for the construction of 7 new playgrounds on our island. The project has a total budget of 240.000€, of which 204.000€ is covered by the Philodemus programme of the Ministry of Interior.

The supply and installation of new certified and safe playground equipment in Kalamos, Karavas, Diakofti, Livadi (in an area near the field provided by the I.N. Panagia Konteletous), Logothetianika, Friligianika and Keramoto is foreseen..

At the same time, our Municipality is preparing another study for new playgrounds in Potamos (at the site of the former Kindergarten) and in Mitata (on a site provided by the local Association) as well as for some additional works in the already upgraded playgrounds of Kontolianikon, Ag. Pelagia, Avlemonas and Potamos, which will be submitted for funding to the Green Fund.»
