The issue of the outdoor summer movie theater in Karava is taking a positive and unexpected turn, as the Association and the Municipality of Kythira have reached an agreement, resolving the impasse that threatened to «freeze» this year’s screenings.
Following mutual discussions and with the aim of not letting the summer season go to waste, it was decided to make the courtyard of the Kato Karava Elementary School (in the archway) as the new alternative venue to host «Cine Portokalia» this summer.
Now that the issue has been resolved, the «Portokalia» Cultural Association “Portokalia” is extending an open invitation to all residents, visitors, and friends to volunteer so that the area can be landscaped and cleaned up as soon as possible.
The meeting for the necessary «sprucing up» of the school is scheduled for today, Wednesday, July 15, at 5:00 p.m. at the archway of the Lower School. The organizers are asking volunteers to bring work gloves (optional) so that the space can be prepared and the projector can finally be turned on for the 7th consecutive summer.
