Serious findings for the operation of the Municipality of Salamina reveals, according to a press release of the leader of the major opposition, Vasso Theodorakopoulou Bogris, the final financial audit report of the Ministry of Finance for the financial year 2022.
As it states, the report records a series of illegal financial practices during Panagopoulos' administration, with violations amounting to EUR 671 556, which led to the imposition a fine of EUR 378.543 in the Municipality of Salamina. It is noted that the audit concerned just 10 envelopes out of a total of 151 the year under consideration.
According to V. Bogris, the fine is expected to burden the citizens and the finances of the Municipality, with direct consequences on projects and infrastructure, while concern is expressed for the credibility of the Municipality in relation to future funding.
The leader of the major opposition calls for a full financial audit for all years of Panagopoulos' administration (2020-2025), political accountability, non-passing of the fine to the citizens and restoration of the prestige of the Municipality of Salamina.

ILLEGAL PRACTICES AND A FINE OF 378.543 € IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SALAMIS.
Η final report fiscal control of Ministry of Finance for the fiscal year 2022 brought to light by our party, reveals serious findings for the operation of our municipality.
The evidence is indisputable and there is no room for misinterpretation and offsetting.
The report documents a number of illegal practices with substantial and heavy political responsibility. According to the findings of the report, during the year 2022 of the Panagopoulos administration, illegal financial transactions amounting to €671,556 were found.
For these practices, the Ministry imposed a fine of €378,543 on the Municipality.
Note that only 10 files out of 151 were checked!!!!
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE ISLAND OF SALAMIS
• The fine will be paid by all of us citizens. New burdens and increased municipal fees will be added.
• The finances of the municipality will be dramatically burdened. Projects, infrastructure and interventions that are so much needed in Salamina will be greatly reduced. .
• Most importantly: the prestige and credibility of Salamina is being damaged, with the risk of losing funding from European and national programmes in the future.
