He accused the Greek foreign minister of impropriety and disrespect, Niko Dendias, the spokesperson for the ruling AKP party, Omer Çelik.
Çelik accused the Greek foreign minister of seeking to sabotage the negotiations and also expressed his annoyance at Dendias’ diplomatic contacts in Libya, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, saying that Greece’s goal is to besiege Turkey.
«His indictment (Dendias) against the Republic of Turkey and our nation—in a highly bigoted and utterly disrespectful manner—will go down in the history of diplomacy as an example of impropriety. After our Foreign Minister gave the appropriate response, he once again ceded the final word to the visiting minister for the sake of diplomacy. But he continued in the same vein. Instead of rectifying this unusual situation, unfortunately, he was recorded speaking in a manner intended to sabotage the consultations,» he noted.
«Everyone in Greece needs to consider the situation this government has brought Greece to. In other words, it has turned into a country that is conspiring against Turkey and trying to stir up hostility.».
«He is going to Libya, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia to lay siege to Turkey.". »But no one here will allow the Mediterranean to become a Greek lake or the Aegean to become a Greek lake.".
