H hydrographic service of Turkey, issued another illegal NAVTEX (0821/21) in which it claims that the Greek NAVTEX 621/21 is illegal, by which the area east of the Crete for investigations of the ship NAUTICAL GEO, which has been leased by the consortium constructing the an undersea pipeline, EAST MED.
In the highly provocative document, the Turkish authorities claim that part of the reserved area is located WITHIN THE TURKISH SURFACE, the boundaries of which were declared to the OHE on 18 March 2020 (A74/757).
In the map below, you can see the map of the NAUTICAL GEO survey area and just below it you can see the map that Turkey submitted to the UN in 2020.
So because things seem to be getting out of control, I guess some people in the Foreign Ministry should understand that at some point they will have to REALLY to harden their stance towards Turkey, while the Ministry of National Defence should understand that the concealment of the continuous presence of a Turkish ship (frigate or corvette) for about two months south - southeast of Crete for the surveillance and harassment of the ship NAUTICAL GEO leads nowhere. At some point it will have to be understood that they will have to face the reality that is becoming more and more difficult...
