On Sunday, cloudy skies are expected throughout the country, with increased cloud cover in some areas at times. Light rain will fall on the mainland, except in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, while scattered showers are expected in the Ionian Islands and the western mainland, where there is a chance of brief thunderstorms.
A light snowfall is expected at relatively high elevations in the mainland’s mountain ranges. Overnight and early in the morning, visibility on the mainland will be locally limited, and fog will form.
According to the weather forecast from the National Observatory of Athens, temperatures will range from -2 to 10 degrees in Western Macedonia, from 1 to 13 in the rest of Northern Greece, in Epirus from 5 to 17 degrees, in Thessaly from 4 to 15, in the rest of the mainland from 7 to 18 degrees, in the Ionian Islands from 9 to 17, on the North Aegean islands from 8 to 13 degrees, and in the rest of the Aegean islands and on Crete from 9 to 17 degrees Celsius.
Winds in the Northern Aegean will be northeasterly, with speeds of up to 4-5 and possibly temporarily reaching 6 Beaufort locally, and in the rest of the Aegean from the north at the same intensities. In the Ionian Sea, southeasterly winds will blow at 4–6 Beaufort, with local gusts up to 6 Beaufort.
In Attica, temporarily increased cloud cover is expected, with a slight chance of brief, light rain. Winds will be from the north-northeast at 2–3 on the Beaufort scale, and locally in the east at 4 on the Beaufort scale. Temperatures will range from 11 to 15–16 degrees.
In Thessaloniki, increased cloud cover is expected at times, with a chance of light local showers. At night and early in the morning, visibility may be locally limited. Winds will be light, blowing mainly from the east. Temperatures will range from 8 to 13 degrees.
