Η pandemic and the specific restrictive conditions under which it was created increased interest for the e-books and in our country. This, among other things, led to a significant increase in traffic to the website of the Open Library (https://www.openbook.gr/) with 1,829,213 visitors in total.
This collection includes 8,492 free Greek digital books and is updated daily with new information. It was also recorded that strong interest in audiobooks And now a special section featuring audiobooks has been created.
Η The Open Library was established in 2010 and serves as a repository of thousands of Greek digital books that are distributed freely and legally online. It includes works Classical Literature and Ancient Secretariat which is copyright-free (Public domain), as well as contemporary works that their authors or publishers have chosen to make freely available. At the same time, it promotes digital literature by publishing e-books for free distribution. The Open Library is included in the Hellenic Copyright Organization’s «Enjoy Legal» directory of legal and safe Greek content.
