On Holy Wednesday, April 28, private-sector employees are expected to receive their Easter bonus. It should be noted that the Easter bonus is calculated for the period from January 1 through April 30 each year, although employers may pay it earlier than April 28 this year.

How is the Easter bonus calculated?

The way the Easter bonus is calculated depends on how the employee is compensated—that is, whether they are paid a daily wage or a monthly salary. Employees who receive a monthly salary and have worked for the entire period in question are entitled to receive half of their monthly salary as an Easter bonus. Otherwise, if they have not worked for the entire period mentioned above, they will receive a portion of the bonus corresponding to the time they did work.

If an employee is paid a daily wage, he or she is entitled to 15 days' pay.

How will those on leave receive the bonus?

A reduced amount is expected to be paid this year Easter gift more than half a million workers, whose employment contracts have been suspended since January. This year's Easter gift is expected to be paid in two installments, as was the case with the Christmas gift.

According to the General Accounting Office, the related expenditure will amount to 185 million euros and applies to employees whose contracts were suspended between January 1 and April 30, 2021.

What is paid by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs

From Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs A total of 2.2 million euros, covering 4,984 payments, will be disbursed between April 19 and 23. Breakdown:

425,108 euros will be paid to 729 beneficiaries for special purpose compensation regarding the suspension of employment contracts during 2020
752,021 euros will be paid to 1,705 beneficiaries for the payment of special-purpose compensation related to the suspension of employment contracts during the months of January, February, and March 2021
912,688 euros will be paid as special-purpose compensation to 1,712 professionals in the arts and culture, tour guides, tour guides, tour escorts, and other workers in specific categories employed in the tourism sector
37,548 euros will be paid as special-purpose compensation to 80 employees who are entitled to mandatory reemployment at tourist accommodations and tourist bus companies
Finally, a total of 77,666.39 euros will be paid out for 758 beneficiary payments (related to the 2020 Christmas bonus).

What is paid by e-EFKA

The following payments will be made by e-EFKA during the period of April 19–23:

Regular payments:

On Friday, April 23, a total of 505 million euros will be paid out for the main and supplementary pensions of 1,065,000 beneficiaries for the month of May. This applies to retirees of the former IKA whose AMKA ends in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.
In addition, between April 19 and 23, 12.2 million euros will be paid out to 500 beneficiaries following the issuance of decisions regarding lump-sum payments.
12 million euros will be paid to 19,251 beneficiaries for cash benefits (maternity, pregnancy, sickness, and accident benefits, as well as funeral expenses)
Finally, 6,500 euros will be paid to 14 beneficiaries for supplementary pension benefits

What is paid by the OAED

From the OAED The following payments will be made during the period of April 19–23:

30 million euros to 25,000 beneficiaries under subsidized employment programs
25 million euros to 62,000 beneficiaries for the payment of unemployment benefits and other benefits
300,000 euros to 850 mothers for subsidized maternity leave.
3 million euros for 6,000 beneficiaries enrolled in public benefit programs (payment of contributions to organizations)

It should be noted that no payments are scheduled by OPEC for this period.
