“The Age of Love” was first released in 1990 by the duo Age of Love—producers Bruno Sanchioni and Giuseppe Chierchia. The original version was released on the Belgian label DiKi Records.
It was a bold experiment for its time: with a heavy beat—somewhere between new-beat and techno—atmospheric synths, and vocals whispering, «Come on, dance with me.».
At first, the track was an underground hit—it was released for DJ sets and small-scale 12” vinyl pressings, without much mainstream promotion.

In 1992, the German duo Jam & Spoon created the remix that changed everything: the “Watch Out for Stella” mix turned the track into a classic—more melodic, with an underlying trance vibe, more “global,” and club-ready.
