Criticism of the Prime Minister - after the announcement of the measures to tackle the inaccuracy of electricity bills-in a statement issued by the SYRIZA-PS arguing, inter alia, that it was nine months late and that it «follows the same logic, the subsidising obscenity with taxpayers' money from the public purse».
Specifically in its statement it states: «After the 9 months of looting of households and businesses, Mr Mitsotakis, terrified in the face of the popular outcry and the imminent collapse of the government, made a speech today admitting the bleeding that his main responsibility has long been experienced by citizens. And while in recent days he had let it leak out that he was going to take action against the obscenity of capping, in the end, what it announced continues the same logic that it has applied up to now, namely the subsidisation of obscenity. What he has decided is to open the public treasury and take out taxpayers» money to cover part of the losses from the excess profits of the power companies, especially the blue golden boys' PPC.
He goes on to accuse the Prime Minister of «having been forced to admit that he had been lying for so long after the bills had been run up long before the war on his own responsibility. However, once again, it leaves the mechanism of obscenity untouched, referring to the arbitration of July some obscure interventions that it did not identify.».
In conclusion, he notes: «And we are waiting with particular interest to see the amount they will confess from the approximately 1.5 billion sky-high profits of the power companies, which until yesterday supposedly did not exist, but finally, due to the pressure of SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance, they were forced to announce that they will tax.».
