He testifies on Wednesday, 20/01/21, before the the prosecutor of first instance, the Olympic Champion of Sailing Sofia Bekatorou, for what he testified against a member of the Sailing Federation, concerning sexual abuse of her by this man 23 years ago.
The prosecution authorities wish to investigate the case in depth, despite the fact that the statute of limitations has expired after so many years. In fact, on the occasion of these allegations, the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Vassilis Pliotas, called on all prosecutors to intervene immediately and effectively when there are even suspicions of the commission of sex crimes and encourage victims to report the perpetrators to the authorities.
It stresses that the presumption of innocence of those involved should be protected, until there is a conviction by the judiciary.
