Rainfall occurred overnight Thursday to Friday in Central and Western Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, Central and Western Sterea, Peloponnese and Ionian Islands. Thunderstorms occurred in the Ionian Sea and the western mainland.

According to the latest forecast data of the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, the bad weather intensifies compared to the initial estimates and reaches the rainfall episode category 4. For the rest of the day, showers are expected in the Ionian Sea, on the mainland, excluding Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and from midday on the Aegean islands and possibly in Crete. Thunderstorms will occur mainly in the Ionian Sea, and in the western and southern mainland. The phenomena in the Ionian Sea, western Central Greece and the Peloponnese will be strong in places and there is a possibility of hail.

From Friday night to Saturday, showers and thunderstorms will mainly occur in Thessaly, Central Greece, Sterea, Peloponnese, Central and Southern Aegean and Crete with the strongest phenomena expected in Evia and Crete. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from Saturday afternoon, with the exception of Crete where significant rainfall will continue to occur.

The temperature on Friday will drop in most of the mainland and in the Ionian Sea and will not exceed 17 to 19 degrees Celsius in the northern Ionian Sea and in the central and northern mainland, with the exception of Thrace and Eastern Macedonia, where it will reach 19 to 21 degrees Celsius in places. In the rest of the mainland and the North Aegean islands it will reach 21 to 23 degrees Celsius and in the remaining island regions 23 to 25 degrees Celsius.

North winds 3 to 5 and locally up to 6 Beaufort will prevail in the Aegean Sea. In the Northern Ionian Sea, easterly winds of 3 to 5 Beaufort are expected, while in the Southern Ionian Sea westerly and from midday southerly winds of the same intensity are expected.
