From today the applications for inclusion in the agri-food scheme of the new Development Law

The submission of applications for the agri-food aid scheme starts today, Monday 3 October, including primary production and processing of agricultural products of the Development Law 4887/2022. The deadline for the submission cycle is 30 December 2022.

The purpose of the scheme is to support business activities in primary agricultural production and the processing of agricultural products. The main features of the aid scheme are as follows:

A. For the primary sector, applications can be submitted by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The total amount of aid may not exceed EUR 500,000, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 702/2014.The investment projects submitted may concern the establishment of a new unit, the extension of an existing unit or modernisation.

The maximum aid rates for inclusion in this scheme are as follows:

  • 75% of the amount of eligible expenditure in investment projects carried out in the Aegean Sea islands,

  • 40% of the amount of eligible expenditure in investment projects carried out in the Region of Attica,

  • 50% of the amount of eligible expenditure in investment projects carried out in the other regions of the country.

Investment projects are supported by the incentives of grants, tax exemptions, leasing subsidies and subsidies for the cost of the employment created, up to the ceilings of the above percentages for each region of the country.

B. For the processing of agricultural products, applications may be submitted by all undertakings. The total amount of aid per investment project submitted by micro and small enterprises is set at EUR 3.000.000 for all types of aid. The total amount of aid per investment project submitted by medium-sized and large enterprises is set at EUR 3 000 000 for aid in the form of grants or leasing subsidies or subsidies for the cost of employment created and EUR 5 000 000 for aid in the form of tax exemption.

Investment projects may concern the establishment of a new plant, the expansion of an existing plant, modernisation or diversification into new products. The maximum aid rates are those set out in the Regional Aid Map 2021-2027.

Investment projects are supported by the incentives of grants, tax exemption, leasing subsidies and subsidies for the cost of the employment created.

Γ. For investment projects submitted in modules and combining primary production and processing, the total amount of aid is EUR 3 500 000 for micro and small enterprises or EUR 3 500 000 for capital incentives (grant and/or leasing subsidy or subsidy for the cost of employment created) or EUR 5 500 000 for tax exemption for medium-sized enterprises.

Applications are submitted through the new Integrated Information System (https://opsan.mindev.gov.gr) that supports the whole life cycle of the investment projects of the Development Law.
