According to recent reports in the international press, Sifnos ranks high among the favorite destinations for travelers from Germany and Austria in 2023. Reise Reporter lists Sifnos among the best destinations in Greece for a vacation away from the crowds.
The reputable German tourism website justifies its choice, emphasizing that «Sifnos is a paradise for hikers and foodies. Despite its popularity, the island of Tselementes continues to preserve its authenticity.».
In the same vein, the well-established Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung considers Sifnos to be one of the destinations Austrians should not overlook in their travel plans for Greece this year. «Our call for quality vacations is resonating strongly abroad. The destination has its own momentum, as was evident last year when we “broke” the 2019 arrival record for the season. Germany and Austria are considered key target markets, and for this reason, we are launching specific initiatives,» said Maria Nadali, Mayor of Sifnos.
It should be noted that following the ITB 2023, the largest international tourism trade show in Berlin, where scheduled meetings were held with travel journalists from newspapers and websites, Sifnos, with the assistance of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Office in Austria and Ioannis Rafalias, is also being promoted at the Vienna tourism fair, Ferien Messe, which will run through March 19.
