Serious clashes broke out a short while ago at ASOEE between 30 hooded individuals and riot police. The hooded individuals threw homemade Molotov cocktails at the riot police, who responded with tear gas. Trash cans were set on fire, but no arrests or detentions were reported.
Patission Avenue remains closed from Alexandras Avenue, in the direction of Patisia.
It should be noted that in recent days, students have been protesting vehemently against the university police which is expected to be «implemented» at the institutions in four months from now. At the same time, they are calling for the Rector’s removal, Dimitris Bourantonis. It all started after the professor was beaten up in the lecture hall, an incident that opened a can of worms and brought to light the «war» between the institution’s professors.
