The latter may not receive, due to their smaller geographical location, the flows of visitors from the country's large islands, however, the economic footprint of tourism on local economies and on the whole, is what significantly determines the course of the Greek economy.
Islands of the Saronic Gulf, islands until recently less prominent in the media such as Sikinos, Kalymnos, Astypalaea, Lipsi, but also timeless classic choices such as Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Ios, Skopelos, Naxos, Paros, Paros, the Kythera, the Elafonisos were filled with crowds of tourists with the operators of these islands speak of an unexpectedly good year for tourism. Although this occurred in the July-August period, gave smiles of satisfaction to those involved in tourism, as its launch in May did not foresee the explosion of arrivals and the scale of the success of the course as it turned out.
At first glance, the occupancies in these and most of the islands of the country, moved above 85%, especially in August, while September is considered a particularly critical month that will seal their tourist revenue. In confirmation of this, it is hoped that tourist flows continue unhindered both on the islands and on the Greek mainland, without any sanitary incidents.
