Harsh attack launched by the municipal faction of the Grand Opposition «People first» to the Administration of the Municipality of Kythera accusing it of incompetence and anachronism on the daily issues of the islands. He points out the many interventions he has made in the past in the institutions of the Municipality regarding the management of waste and stresses: Recycling in Kythera is limited to the individual responsibility and participation of citizens and unfortunately STOP AT THE BLUE TUBS. «What Recycling in Kythera - the world has it backwards and you have hidden pride»
In the last few days, after the relevant publication of the informative news website «kythera News», we are watching another episode of the same unpleasant story that we have been experiencing for the last 9 years in our islands. Η INABILITY and UPDATE characterizing the current municipal authority shown and proven daily, even on the basics - like waste management.
There are many times that our party has raised questions within the city council and within the financial committee for the management of waste and the general operation of the Kythera landfill and that of Antikythera, which unfortunately until today operate as a landfill or a landfill. We have never received any substantial answers. Millions and millions have been spent but to this day neither of the two sites NO works according to the specifications. After 9 years of Harhalakis administration, a mature and important project for the place has NOT yet been completed.
Recycling in Kythera is limited to the individual responsibility and participation of citizens and unfortunately STOP AT THE BLUE TUBS. This has been going on for many years, not just in the last fortnight. Incompetent as the current municipal authority is, it limits itself to blaming everyone else but itself and fails to put together a comprehensive waste management plan.
Even the Collection of waste is at its lowest level in recent years and relies on the heroic efforts of understaffed staff. But the poor planning of recruitment, the poor organization and management of collection, is the responsibility of none other than the current municipal authority.
For the sake of history alone, which proves that this event is not a coincidence but the norm, we attach an earlier relevant article of the newspaper «Kathimerini» (23 February 2020) and older photos we have received from citizens' complaints about the Antikythera landfill.
