In a press release, Antonis Mavrommatis, president of the New Democracy Local Organization of Kythira, responds to Related press release from the SYRIZA Organization of Kythira:
«On Monday, December 2, I came across a press release from SYRIZA in Kythira. SYRIZA «calls on the Mayor of Kythira and the New Democracy party officials in Livadi to work things out among themselves.» I will not engage in vague, deliberate, populist confrontations, nor will I stir up trouble, because neither my upbringing nor the way I interact with my fellow citizens allows me to do so. I will only emphasize that the Mayor is responsible for the operation of the municipality, and the president of the Municipal and Community Organization (DIM.T.O.) is responsible for the activities of the DIM.T.O. I would also like to remind you that Livadi is the only village that has been welcoming visitors year-round in recent years, and it meets all the criteria to be a year-round tourist destination for all visitors to our island. Of course, we all know how and who is partly responsible for Livadi’s tourism development, and it would be welcome if others were to strive for the same results. Criticism is for everyone and is easily offered by many, but results come from a few and always in a specific way.».
