A shocking testimony is given on camera to Mega by the wife and mother of six children, who claims to have seen—with her own eyes—at least 10 police officers beating her husband and son.
As fans had gathered to watch the game outside the stadium, despite the lockdown, police officers arrived to enforce the required measures, and clashes ensued.
«He asked my husband for his ID; he didn’t have one. My husband told him he had health problems, but the officer said he didn’t care and that he was going to arrest him, and then the beating began…»
«They knocked my husband to the ground; he lost consciousness. A doctor came to revive him, and then they arrested them and put them in a cell,» says the wife and mother of two of the victims.
«We see a mob attacking two people; one of them was unable to defend himself, and at least 10 people pounced on the son, beating him and trying to subdue him.».
The 58-year-old suffered an acute heart attack
A father and son were arrested by police officers for resisting arrest, disobeying orders, and verbal abuse, and were taken to the Pieria General Police Directorate.
The 58-year-old, however, was not feeling well, and according to his wife, he repeatedly asked to be taken to the hospital for two hours, but the police officers did not respond.
«Two hours later, my daughter called an ambulance; they picked up my husband, took him to the hospital, and as soon as he arrived there, he suffered an acute myocardial infarction.».
The doctors at the Katerini Hospital managed to stabilize him, but it was deemed necessary to transfer him to the General Clinic of Thessaloniki, where he underwent emergency surgery early Monday morning.

According to the family, the 58-year-old appears to have pulled through, however, they have already filed a lawsuit over what happened, which they say resulted in their father’s life being put at risk and their son being injured.

Christos Mystridis, one of the victims of the beating, spoke to LIVE NEWS.
«My father is in critical condition. He was struck on the back of the head…,» he said at first.
«There were other people there, too. Suddenly, the police showed up to check our IDs. About 30 meters away, I saw my dad getting beaten because he didn’t have his ID with him; I was terrified, I went over there, and as you can see in the video, a police officer tried to force his way toward me.».
«The other police officer is holding him, but he breaks free, comes toward me, they all rush at me together and beat me all over my body—on my neck, my torso, my face…,» he said, describing the violent police assault.
«There were 15 police officers just on top of me, punching me all over. My father has an 80% disability and couldn’t do anything, so they just left him somewhere… we almost lost our father,» he added.
