The well-known actor is now the defendant Petros Filippidis for three very serious felonies, specifically for one rape and two attempted rapes.
Criminal charges against him were filed by the prosecutor of the Court of First Instance, Kostas Spyropoulos, who conducted the preliminary investigation following allegations made by three actresses against Petros Filippidis.
Petros Filippidis provided a statement to the prosecutor—not in person but in writing—denying the serious allegations against him.
In fact, the defendant reportedly claimed that the allegations against him were made out of revenge because he had not cooperated with the complainants, who have described in harrowing detail the acts they accuse him of, revealing a consistent … pattern of behavior on the part of the actor.
The case file that has been compiled has already been forwarded to an investigating judge, who will conduct the preliminary investigation, during which Petros Filippidis will be summoned to give a statement,after which his further criminal proceedings will be determined.In other words, whether he will be released, whether conditions will be imposed on him and, if so, what they will be, or, in the worst-case scenario for him, whether he will be remanded in custody.
The attempted rape
One of the two attempted rapes was the one reported to *Documento* by actress A.G., which allegedly took place in the summer of 2014.
According to her, Petros Filippidis allegedly used his position and fame to sexually exploit her in exchange for a job. Her allegations revealed another side of the well-known actor: a sense of power and control over the young woman, coupled with the certainty that no one could touch him.
It is telling that when the actress warns him that she will report him to the TV stations, he cynically replies, «The TV stations won’t give a damn about me.» Earlier, as she alleges, he had already reached out and touched her. She refused. After all, she had met with the actor solely for work purposes, initially at a café. The actor then offered to drive her home. However, he drove her to a dead-end street in Paleo Psychiko. He locks the car door so she can’t get out. Despite her pleas for him to stop, he ignores her. He even goes so far as to masturbate in front of her.
He yells at her, «Take it in your mouth.» She keeps refusing, resisting. Then he curses at her and throws her out of the car. «Go f*** yourself, you think you’re some big shot,» he tells her. He leaves her there and drives off.
«I started screaming. “Don't yell for nothing—there's no one in the theater.”»
The second allegation of attempted rape by the well-known actor was also revealed by Documento in early March and dated back to 2010.
At some point, the actress received a phone call from P. Filippidis. He asked her to meet him at the theater at noon before the afternoon performance so he could give her a revised script for her role. The actress went, and the well-known comedian led her straight to his dressing room. At one point, he told her to take off her coat and come closer to him. That’s when things started to get out of hand.
«He put his arms around me and pinned me against the corner. He lunged at me, kissing my neck and trying to reach my lips. Trying to get away, I told him, “Please stop, I don’t want to do this, I don’t feel well, let me go, you’re hurting me,” and he’d say to me in a passionate voice, “You’re so beautiful, what the f*** are you? I want you, I’m going to f*** you, you won’t get away from me, you’ll see, we’re going to have a great time…».
The fact that the young actress refused with every fiber of her being did not deter him
«At the same time, he was violently grabbing my chest, my thighs, and my genital area through my clothes. He was pinning my arms down; he had cornered me against the edge of the couch, and yet he had pulled down his pants and exposed his genitals. He kept telling me he wanted me to lick and stroke his penis, and I was screaming that I wanted him to stop. I was screaming!».
Taking advantage of his physical superiority, Philippides tried to satisfy his perverse desires
«He exerted a force over me that I couldn’t resist because of his physical superiority. As I was pinned down by his heavy, muscular body, he made a violent thrust with his knees, straddling me and trapping me there once again. He had knelt on my thighs. It hurt. I tried to hold his hands down, but with sudden movements he freed them and immediately took off the T-shirt he was wearing. He continued by pulling down my leggings to undress me and managed to pull them down partway along with my underwear.».
The woman continued to resist. It was an uneven fight.
«I was pushing him with my hands, but I didn’t have the strength to overpower him. I remember that he was heavy, tough, and sweaty. It was an uneven fight, but I didn’t stop moving for a moment, struggling to save myself while he groped me with his tongue and hands on my neck, my face, and my body, and was preparing to go further by spreading my legs…».
The Rape That Has Already Taken Place
According to reports, the rape allegedly took place in 2008, and the victim initially reported the incident as an attempted rape, but the prosecutor reclassified it as a completed offense. The rape allegedly took place in the actor’s dressing room, where the victim had gone to discuss a role.
