In parallel with his many years of theatrical research on works dealing with the descent into Hades, under the general title «Epekena,» which were presented consecutively from 2014 to 2019 at unique venues and institutions throughout Greece and abroad, is now embarking on a new stage project —a visual-theatrical experiment titled «PETRICHOR.» This is a work-in-progress project that explores the concept of tenderness. Taking K. Tsiropoulos’s essay «On Tenderness» as its initial point of departure , the project draws inspiration from it to create and compose a new, handmade universe and then delve deeper into the meaning of the word and its connotations, as well as into the process of free association.
What is the first thought that comes to mind when we hear the word «tenderness»?;
How and to what extent have our modern lifestyle and breakneck pace affected our relationship with ourselves and, by extension, our relationship with those around us?;
What room is there for the need for tenderness in such a way of life? And how many times in our lives have we felt true, selfless tenderness?;
How easy or difficult is it to turn our gaze inward for a moment?;
The tumultuous events of recent years have, by general admission, led us to look more closely at society as well as at ourselves. To focus our attention a little deeper than the surface. But has it also made us more compassionate toward others and toward ourselves?;
