With dozens of visitors walking through the store’s doors from the very first hours of operation, the opening party turned into a celebration full of smiles, music, and optimism, confirming that Kythira was ready to welcome a space unlike anything we've been used to until now.
The Le Petit Pink Edition It’s not just another store. It’s a concept store dedicated to beauty and self-care, bringing together in one place products that, until now, most of the island’s residents had to seek out through online orders or during trips outside of Kythira.
Cosmetics, makeup, skincare, perfumes, body lotions, jewelry, watches, handbags, accessories, and unique gift ideas together form a proposal that adds a new dimension to the local market.
Behind the idea is Chara, who has been living permanently in Kythira for the past seven years with her family. As she explains, the love and trust she has received over the years through her work with Le Petit Café in Tsikalaria were what inspired her to take the next step.
«The love and trust I received from the people at Le Petit Café gave me the courage to take the next step. Observing the needs of the local residents, I felt that there was a lack of a space dedicated to women. That’s how Pink Edition—the pink version, so to speak—was born. »You won’t have to wait for packages to restock your products anymore, and most importantly, you can see, try, and choose what suits you best.”.
Beyond its commercial aspect, however, the new store aims to be a place for personal interaction and customer service.
«The gap I’d like to fill isn’t just a commercial one. The gap that Le Petit Pink Edition has come to fill is that of human connection and relaxation. I want you to walk in and feel the warmth of your own home. I’m here so we can talk and figure out together what suits you best, and have a wonderful time. It’s our very own pink world.», as Chara points out.
The public's response to the opening seems to have confirmed that there was a real need for such a space.
«The response to the opening was truly overwhelming. It exceeded all expectations. This energetic start confirmed to me that people believe in the vision of this project, just as I do.».
Le Petit Pink Edition will be open year-round. For Chara, however, the venture also has a deeply personal dimension.
«When I lived in Athens, there were days when I felt melancholy. I remember walking through the city streets and randomly popping into a small shop. I’d buy a new necklace or a makeup item, and suddenly my mood would change. That tiny act of self-care was enough. That’s the feeling I wanted to bring to Kythira. I want Le Petit Pink Edition to be the place where a woman can walk in after a tiring day and, with a small gift to herself, feel better.».
On a small island, where daily life often requires patience, perseverance, and a love for the place, every new endeavor has its own unique value. The choice to live, create, and invest in Kythira isn’t always the easy one.
