Actor Dinos Karydis passed away at the age of 85. The news of his death was announced by Spiros Bibilas in a post on social media.
Dinos Karydis was born in Athens in 1938 and excelled in the field of acting, first as an outstanding student at the Athens Drama School and then as a professional actor, not only in theater, but also in film and television.
During his long career, he collaborated with many important directors and participated in a variety of projects covering a wide range of genres, from comedies to dramas. He was the father of the well-known actress Smaragda Karydi and husband of actress Julia Argyropoulou.
In his post, Spyros Bibilas writes: «My dear friend, good night forever! You were one of the sweetest people I ever met, and you always called me your nephew since we met at the ERT studios in 1980. We loved each other and were united by a deep family friendship. Your talent and humor were inexhaustible! Your love for all of us, but especially for your Julia and your Smaragda, was boundless... And Smaragda is a worthy daughter of such parents. We will always love you and we will say goodbye to you on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zografou Cemetery. Have a good journey, our beloved Dinako, and our heartfelt condolences to your two beloved creatures.
