The Municipal Authority issued a press release regarding the proceedings of the recent meeting of the Municipal Council.
In it, it is stated:
«Met at noon on Tuesday 30/11/2021 the Kythera Municipal Council, chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Stathi and in the presence of the Mayor, Mr. Eustratios Charhalakis. The meeting took place in real time via the ZOM web platform.
The Mayor informed the Board of Directors about the twinning ceremony with the Municipality of Alimos, which took place on 14-11 and wished the Mayor, Mr. Andreas Kondylis on his name day, while congratulating him for the exemplary organization of the event. In addition, he mentioned for the new funding of the Municipality of 100.000€ from the Attica Regional Development Plan which aims to energy upgrading of the Chora and Karvounades Primary Schools and the Kindergarten in Kato Livadi.
The report of Mr. Γ. Didimioti in the reports of IONIAN TV (which is constantly awarded at the Media Awards as «Regional Greek TV of the Year») for the municipal works of Kythera. The councillors - regardless of party - should be happy and feel satisfied for the execution of so many projects in our municipality and not to mock their news promotion, which, especially for the waste management project, is also Obligation due to its funding from the NSRF (publicity actions). These projects have been funded with hard work and a lot of effort and citizens must be kept informed, which will continue for all municipal projects without exception.
We recall that with the minimum cost of 2.480€ (including VAT), IONIAN TV covered (with excellent professionalism and state-of-the-art audiovisual media) the Vespers, the Divine Liturgy and the Litany of Our Lady of Myrtidiotissa as well as the concert of the Navy Band at Kapsali, giving the opportunity to thousands of people to attend these events and especially to the tens of thousands of expatriate Kytherians, who this year could not be on our island due to the coronavirus.
The events were broadcasted online on social media and on TV by at least 6 major regional channels as well as on the COSMOTE TV platform. In fact, only the broadcast of the Divine Liturgy of 24of September has exceeded the 70.000 unique views (views) only on the Ionian TV channel on youtube (not counting Facebook broadcasts, TV broadcasts, etc.), almost twice as much as the corresponding broadcast of the feast of St. Gerasimos of Kefalonia, even though the number of people from Kefalonia living in the diaspora exceeds 200,000! We believe that this particular reference by Mr Didymiotis was unfortunate, to say the least. The report by Mr Didiomini was also unfortunate. Dem. Kontoleontos for the participation of the Municipality in the International Tourism Exhibition PHILOXENIA 2021 in Thessaloniki, as it had been approved by the Board's decision No. 34/2021, in the discussion of which Mr. Kontoleon participated and voted «present».
The Board dealt with current official matters, while it proceeded to the designation of the management of the Municipal Port Fund (declaratory act) for the remainder of the term of office (until 31-12-2023) as follows:
A: Members nominated with binding effect by the Mayor:
- Calligeros Dimitrios with his alternate Sougianis Charalambos
- Zantiotis Panagiotis with his alternate Kominos Georgios
- Evangelos Lourantos with Konstantinos Kapsalis as his alternate
- Veneri Travasarou Irini with substitute Maroulidou Soumela
B: Members nominated by all the minority groups, of which at least one must be a woman:
- Georgilas Paraskevas with his substitute Chrysafitis Nikolaos
- Notara Diamantoula with Konomou Antzoleta as her substitute
C: The Head of the relevant Port Authority with his legal deputy
- Niki Yiannakopoulou, Lieutenant of the LN with her deputy Fiolaki Irini, Second Lieutenant of the LN
Mr. Evaggelos Lourantos was elected vice-president with 9 votes (against 7 votes for Mr. Paraskevas Georgilas).»
