On 21 December 2023, the re-elected Mayor of Kythera, Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis, the members of the Municipal Council, the Presidents and Members of the 14 Municipal Communities of the Municipality of Kythera were sworn in. In a festive atmosphere the Oath of the Mayor and the Municipal Authority

In a solemn atmosphere the ceremony provided by the Law was held on Thursday evening 21-12-2023 swearing in of the re-elected Mayor of Kythera Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis, the members of the Municipal Council, the Presidents and the Members of the 14 Municipal Communities of the Municipality us. The ceremony took place in «Dimitrios Stais» hall of the Kytheraikos Association and admittedly it was perfectly organized, and was attended by a large number of people.

The inauguration was performed by His Eminence, Metropolitan Seraphim, who wished the Mayor and all the elected officials success in their duties. Preceded by short welcome and briefing by the Head of the Municipality Mrs. Polyxeni Alexenis Alexidou, regarding the procedure and the provisions of the oath of office, while all the elected officials signed the relevant Minutes, which will be sent to the Decentralized Administration. On behalf of the Committee of the Property Committee of Kythera and Antikythera, all the elected officials received as a blessing an icon of the patroness of Kythera, Panagia Myrtidiotissa.

Before the Mayor gave the required assurance to the elected officials who chose the political oath.

The event concluded with a piano recital by the Kytherian pianist Mr. Alexandros Kyriakopoulos, who excels in Boston, USA and travelled at the request of the Mayor, especially to participate in the inauguration, applauding and captivating the attendees with his virtuosity in classical music.

In the afternoon of 02/01/2024, the new Municipal Council will meet at the invitation of the leading councillor of the majority, Mr. Ioannis Katsanevakis, in order to elect its Bureau and the elected members of the Municipal Committee for the next 2.5 years, i.e. half of the municipal term (30 months).

On behalf of the Municipal Authority, to which the position of Chairman of the Board belongs, will be proposed the Municipal Councillor Mr. Konstantinos Kapsalis.

The Vice-Mayors will be announced on 01-01-2024.
