The Hellenic Society for the Environment and Culture organized a scientific symposium held online on Wednesday 25 May 2022 at 17.00, on the occasion of the accession «5 Islands of the South Aegean» within the framework of the programme «7 Most Endangered» Europa Nostra, due to the threatened installation of wind turbines in their sensitive landscapes.
The scientific conference was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Technical Works, Urban Planning and Environment of the Municipality of Kythera, Charalambos Sougiannis. In the video you can watch the speech - positioning.
The topics of the workshop were:
- The importance of preserving the cultural and natural landscape.
- The impact of RES on the natural and cultural landscape.
- Tools to achieve the objectives of protection and sustainable green transition.
The aim of the workshop was the exchange of views between distinguished speakers and representatives of stakeholders, in order to produce conclusions critical to achieving the protection of the cultural and natural landscape, while achieving a sustainable green transition.
