From Friday 29 January, businesses in the five Less Developed Regions (LDCs) of the country will be able to submit apply for their subsidy to hire unemployed persons registered with the OAED, aged 30 years and over. It is about 7,000 jobs with a focus on the long-term unemployed and older unemployed in Regions of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Western Greece, Epirus, Thessaly and Central Macedonia.
The programme is addressed to private companies, the the duration of the grant is 12 months and the amounts of the monthly wage subsidy and social security contributions for the recruitment of unemployed persons to new full-time jobs are as follows:
- €473 for unemployed people up to 49 years old
- €568 for unemployed people aged 50 and over
- 615 euros for the long-term unemployed
- €710 for the long-term unemployed aged 50 and over
Businesses interested in participating in the programme will submit their application exclusively electronically through the State Aid Information System of the Ministry of Development & Investment at http://www.ependyseis.gr/mis. Then, the OAED's employment consultants will suggest candidates to the company, according to the speciality and the required qualifications and the company will choose among the candidates for recruitment.
Prerequisite, is the company it has not reduced its staff in the three months preceding the application and has not received more than EUR 200,000 of State aid in the previous three years (current and two previous ones).
The subsidy for salary and non-salary costs includes the corresponding Christmas and Easter bonuses and holiday allowances.
The programme, which has a budget of 44.000.000 euros, is co-funded by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund) through the Operational Programme «Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020».
