Mitata is preparing one of this summer’s most eagerly anticipated traditional festivals, as the «Myrtia» Cultural Association “MYRTIA” is organizing a big celebration in the village square.
The Thursday, August 13, 2026, the picturesque Mitata Square will welcome the beloved Cretan artist Niko Zoidakis. With his boundless energy, his characteristic mantinades, and the sounds of his lyre, the renowned lyre player promises to get the island’s residents and visitors up and dancing in a grand celebration that will last until the early hours of the morning.
