There has been a change in leadership in the Municipal Community of Friligianika on Kythira, as the Municipality of Kythira announced that the new Community President has taken office.
This municipal community administratively includes the settlements of Friligianika, Diakofti, Kastrisianika, Aloizianika, and Kypriotianika.
The relevant announcement follows:
New President of the Municipal Community of Friligianika
The Municipality of Kythira announces that, following the resignation on May 27, 2026, of the President of the Municipal Community of Frilingianika, Mr. Georgios Maravelias, as well as the February 23, 2025, declaration of independence and withdrawal by 10 members from the “ALL TOGETHER” faction, including the elected Council Member Mr. Epameinondas Stamatis, which has been registered with the Municipality of Kythira under ref. no. 555/February 24, 2025, the new President of the Community, in accordance with the provisions of Article 79 of Law 3852/2010, is Mr. Evangelos Notaras, son of Panagiotis, who was elected as a member of the majority municipal faction “KYTHIRA – ANTIKYTHIRA NEW DAY,” who was duly summoned and accepted the position effective Friday, May 29, 2026.
