An unusual picture was seen by the inhabitants of Pinwheel yesterday morning on the homonymous beach of Polihnitu.
The sea had almost washed ashore a helpless dolphin, which was on the edge of the shore and was struggling to save itself.
Immediately the coast guard forces were alerted but a short time later the resident who spotted it (Stelios Lambrinidis) reported that the mammal died as it had injuries.
The video was posted by Stelios Lambrinidis, a resident of Nifida, where a dolphin is seen drifting on the shore and writhing in the waves.
